My journey into the world of painting and mixed media began with a deep fascination for the tactile. With a BA from the University for the Creative Arts and a Master's in Textiles from the Royal College of Art in the UK, my DNA is woven with a love for texture, colour combinations, and the intricate ways different materials interact. My previous career was spent navigating the fast moving world of design and textile production, but it was becoming a mother to two young children that truly sharpened my perspective on what “precious” really means.
In a world that feels increasingly digital and fleeting, I find myself drawn to the physical anchors of our lives. My legacy collage work is a commentary on the beautiful chaos of the modern world - finding rhythm in the noise and permanence in the temporary. As an artist and a mother, I don't just see a drawing or a scrap of fabric; I see a milestone. I use my expertise in textile composition to elevate these fragments into sophisticated masterpieces.

“Turning Today's Memories into Tomorrow's Masterpieces”
As parents, we are the keepers of “the pile.” The stacks of finger paintings, the first attempts at writing a name, the bits of ribbon from a favourite dress, and the doodles that capture a specific Tuesday in June. We can't keep it all, but we can't bear to throw it away.
Inspired by the fragile beauty of a child's mark making, I created the Legacy Collage.

Ocean dives with a scuba explorer, rocket launches, playful owls, and a grand grandfather clock are stitched together with rich pinks and deep sea blues, celebrating pure wonder and youthful joy.

A Recent Commission
For years, I kept all of my boys' early artwork tucked away in a drawer. I knew it was precious and wanted to do something meaningful with it, but I never knew where to start or how to sort through years of drawings, paintings and creations from different stages of their early childhood.
Nicola stepped in where I was completely stuck. I was initially nervous about deciding what to give her and whether I was handing over too much or too little, but Nicola immediately put me at ease. She explained the process thoroughly and clearly, and then worked her magic carefully sifting through years of artwork and transformed each boys' collection into a unique and beautiful piece of art. Every time we look at the collages, we discover a new detail.
